Back in November 2008 we weren’t even aware of that name, but the cover we created for Marco’s release as Wacky Southern Current paved the way for the cooperations in days to come. Therefore, in one or another way, it can be considered the first Synflict product.
At first, was aligned horizontally and vertically on a snowy white background, but that was not really particularly thrilling. Then Marco had the idea to shift the background by some degrees and turn it into a plane. This idea I liked a lot, in fact that was one of the key moments where I realised that I for myself would never have thought of this. At this point, the drafts proceeded quickly: I then decided to bend and distort the original vertikal stripes so they follow the form of the tilted white square. The last problems were how to make use of the empty space in between and what size the four square symbols and their seemingly displaced outlines should have. I eventually went with Marco’s suggestion (I hesitated at first, but by the time Bogdan suggested the same thing, it dawned on me that my approach might indeed be wrong) and reduced it to its final size.
In the end, everyone was happy – despite me misspelling Marco’s surname on the cover. It went unnoticed until a couple of weeks after the release had already been published ;-).
